"Owned by an English writer, Porte Royale brings a touch of British elegance to the the northern edge of the médina.  There's no over-the-top decoration or wild kaeidoscope of colours here, just pristine white walls. a few carefully chosen peices of furniture and rare fabrics.  The stylish reserve of the the decoration serves to emphasize the beauty of the building and contributes to the serene atmosphere.  Another plus point is the location: it's in a beautiful part of the Marrakech médina that few tourists reach and the superb service is friendly and attentive."
